We love the freedom of being by ourselves, our dogs can run free and we can meet different people. It’s a real challenge for our age but we love it. We have a ministry here we feel God has called us to do and that’s to help those who are stranded on the highway of life, and also we work among young people who have a drug problem. I have a degree in counseling and also believe in prayer. Recently, the State Fire Marshall closed us down.
While in court, they testified to the following reasons why the motel should be closed down:
They claimed that we had improperly mounted fire extinguishers, 2 open junction boxes, and exposed extension cords.
I told the court these were factory made modular units pre-wired and even though they were a few years old they were still in good condition.
We were told you had to have a licensed electrician to approve the corrective electrical actions, yet no licensed electrician were to be found available and willing to address and sign off on the corrected actions.
Why?
We found out the problem - they did not want to touch anything that had come in contact with the State Fire Marshall for fear of losing their license.
Part 2, Cause of Malicious Prosecution.
Now, here's some affidavits that we have available from the court, notarized, of those who have done studies on the motel and have electrical experience, but they're not certified by the state as a licensed electrician, and therefore they would not accept these as any kind of validation.
Why would the governor be interested in shutting down all of these “cheap seats” housing when we have such a lack of places already in Kansas to stay?
In our town of Oakley, Kansas, you can't even find an apartment anywhere.
As I was studying material, (see Exhibit B), from the Motel and Hotel Associations, for reason for all the motel closures across the United States.
Their charts show all of the motels across the United States and how many other motels are also being forcibly closed. Why?
Well, I would think one of the major reasons, is to create homelessness, despair and loss of self respect.
In Canada, they offer the populace end-of-life assisted euthanasia by lethal injection that previously was reserved for condemned prisoners on death row.
By shutting down housing opportunities for the young and old, the by product is loss of self respect, purpose and one is then susceptible to the state sponsored death with dignity via injection.
It's a shot called Pentobarbital. And if you try to stop your children from taking that shot in Canada, the government will put you in jail. What it does is it paralyzes you. Then like waterboarding, your lungs fill up with water, and it takes up to one half an hour to die. Very insidious. Yet it's sold to the public as an alternative, when the burden of your life is too hard, and things are too difficult. So you go that route and end it all. I believe this is what they wish to initiate in America, as well.
Create so much difficulty in the housing. Which is number one for a stable home life. Food is number two. They're cutting off the two basic needs for people. People feel like they're losers.
They're not like their mother and father who had a house. I believe this is a technique of trying to destroy America's core values. And that's why they're shutting off the housing. Motel Hotel Association, (see Exhibit B), publishes the loss of housing in their brochure. It shows all the motels in the state of Kansas and also all the other states where many of them are now closed, So it's not just Kansas.
This is Kevan Taylor from Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby Kansas. ... a note explaining my experience with Dustin Kaufmann the former State of Kansas Fire Marshall."
It certainly does not constitute a temporary injunction being filed on this motel.”
How long would these two people last on the street being homeless?
But no electrician wanted to touch us with a 10 foot pole for fear of losing their license.”
